BMO Harris Private Banking Appoints New VP In Canada

BMO Harris Private Banking has appointed Rick Thomson as vice president and market leader, Atlantic Canada, aiming to strengthen its presence in the region.

Thomson has over 30 years experience with BMO, latterly as vice president and regional director for the Greater Toronto Division of private banking. He is a former president of the Bedford Board of Trade.

In his new role Thomson will assume leadership of a team of 35 professionals who serve customers through the firm’s private banking offices in Halifax, Moncton and St John's.

The appointment follows news that the firm has established a private wealth group to target the high net worth and ultra high net worth. For families with at least C$10 million  in investable assets or C$25 million in net worth, the firm is looking at ways to integrate the services offered by the subsidiaries of parent BMO Financial Group.
